Q: Why seal cracks?
A: Pavement is a costly investment!  Just as you would seal leaks in the roof of your building
you should seal cracks in your pavement.  Water infiltration through cracks causes
deterioration of the pavement and substructure.  Untreated cracks propagate and multiply.  The
result is expensive repairs and reconstruction.

Q: Why are two thin coats recommended/better than one thick coat?
A: Sealer applied in two coats dries and cures much better than one thick coat application.

Q: Why do you add sand to your mix?
A: Sand is used for traction, skid resistance and also to provide a uniform texture to the surface.

Q: How long does it take?
A: It depends on the cleaning & repairs. The average driveway with no repairs can usually be
done in under an hour.

Q: How long do I need to stay off of the completed driveway?
A: In full sun, you can walk on it in a few hours, you can't drive on it for 24 hours. In the Spring
and Fall, 48 hours is recommended. Although it dries in 24 hours, it takes 30 day's to cure so
no harsh chemicals or turning tires without the car moving.

Q: I just had new asphalt put down on my driveway.  How long until I should have it seal
coated?
A: Within the first year of construction, however you should wait at least 90 days so the asphalt
can fully cure.

Q: How often should I seal my driveway?
A: Two to three years is recommended.
